Celebrating Labor Day the Solidarity Way

As Labor Day approaches, some of us look forward to three day weekends and final opportunities to enjoy the summer. That’s only natural, and I hope you do find ways to rest and rejuvenate before the long sunny days and light work and school schedules slip away. For myself, I have a whole week of vacation planned, but I have every confidence that CRS Fair Trade work will continue. Thanks to the volunteers and organizers of upcoming Work of Human Hands sales, there are several chances to act in solidarity with Fair Trade laborers, even while you enjoy the holiday.

The following communities are hosting sales on or around the Labor Day weekend. All would welcome your visiting the events, appreciating the high quality gifts and gourmet foods, and asking questions about the people behind the products:

September 1, Catholic Charities of Albany, NY
September 2, St. Hilary’s Church in Fairlawn, OH
September 4, Thomas More College in Crestview, KY
September 8, The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Pensacola, FL
September 8, St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Thibodaux, LA
September 9, Blessed Trinity Church in Sheboygan, WI

Thanks to Rosanna Shoemaker for this photo from a recent Work of Human Hands sale in Texas. It gives you a glimpse of the friendly faces and wonderful items you’ll find at Work of Human Hands sales on Labor Day or any day that a sale is happening! Texas WHH
